27th Annual Vehicle and Equipment Show
Tuesday, May 12, 2015, 9am – 2pm

The New York City Department of Citywide Services is hosting the 27th Annual Vehicle and Equipment Show at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens. The show is free to all attendees and exhibitors. Please see the links below to the show flyer and the exhibitor form.

As at the show last May, and at the Vision Zero forum for fleets last October, there is a continuing emphasis on Vision Zero initiatives. The show will also seek to highlight Fleet Sustainability related vehicles and products. Vendors are welcome from all areas of the automotive industry and fleet related services to register to display at the show.

NYC Commercial Refuse Clean Truck Workshop

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program participated at the NYC Commercial Refuse Clean Truck Workshop held on February 27, 2014 at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. The workshop served as an opportunity for waste haulers and Class 3 to Class 8 fleet owners to learn about the incentives available for the purchase of new vehicles and exhaust retrofit technologies. Over 130 participants, 15 vendor displays and three vehicle demos made this a valuable one-stop-shop event for the trucking community.

New York Clean Truck Incentives Webinar

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) Team participated in the New York Clean Truck Incentives Webinar hosted by the New York Truck Voucher Incentive Program (NYT-VIP) on December 12, 2013. The webinar targeted fleets, manufacturers, dealers and Northeast stakeholders interested in learning about the truck incentive programs currently available in New York.

25th Annual Vehicle & Equipment Show

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) Team participated in the 25th Annual Vehicle & Equipment Show sponsored by the New York City, Citywide Administrative Services Department which took place on Thursday, May 30th, 2013. The CTP Team enjoyed the warm spring weather at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, met with prospective program participants, responded to general questions about the CTP’s eligibility and interacted with event attendees.

New York Restaurant Association Board Meeting

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) Team presented at the New York Restaurant Association Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013. The CTP Team provided information about the program’s eligibility criteria and the benefits of participation. The presentation emphasized the important nexus that restaurants and consumers can play in helping create a sustainable food movement across New York City and the Bronx. The CTP Team encourages food purveyors and other suppliers to keep the last mile of the foods’ movement clean with the goal of creating a full green cycle of goods from the farm to the consumers’ plates. The CTP and the New York Restaurant Association hope to continue working together in the future to promote full cycle food sustainability.

International Restaurant & Foodservice Show

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) Team participated in the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show which took place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from Sunday, March 2nd to Tuesday, March 5th. The Show provided a unique opportunity for the Team to interact with suppliers of New York City’s restaurant and foodservice industry, some of which are based in Hunts Point and Port Morris. The CTP Team was able to answer questions from community members about the CTP’s goals, benefits and eligibility criteria.

8th Annual Alternative Vehicle Technology Conference and Expo

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) Team presented at the 8th Annual Alternative Vehicle Technology (AVT) Conference and Expo which took place on Friday, October 19, 2012, and was sponsored by the Center for Sustainable Energy at Bronx Community College.

During the first panel discussion Cliff Gladstein, member of the Hunts Point CTP Team, presented to over seventy attendees about the benefits of the program and discussed how eligible truck owners and operators could take advantage of the available rebate incentives. Attendees of the AVT Conference learned about alternative fuels and advanced transportation technologies, were able to see some of these technologies at the vehicle display, and took part in a lively discussion about policy to drive future fuel adaptation.

25th Annual Tent Party

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) team participated in the 25th Annual Tent Party sponsored by the Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation on Thursday, October 4, 2012.  During the Tent Party, representatives from the Hunts Point CTP distributed information about the benefits of the program to stakeholders, members of the community and the trucking industry.

Tent Party attendees who visited  the Hunts Point CTP table were provided with answers to eligibility questions and received valuable program information including the program factsheet, FAQs, application  and a free program t-shirt.  The Hunts Point CTP Team encourages all eligible truck owners and fleets to apply for rebate funds available for the purchase of new diesel or alternative fuel trucks, the installation of an exhaust retrofit device, or the scrappage of an older truck.

Outreach at the Markets

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) was onsite at the Hunts Point Cooperative Market on Wednesday, August 22nd, and at the New Fulton Fish Market on Thursday, August 23rd, touting the benefits of the program to truck owners/operators and fleets from the South Bronx community.

Truck owners and operators who visited representatives of the Hunts Point CTP Team walked away with a program t-shirt and received valuable information about how to apply for rebate funds available for the purchase of new diesel or alternative fuel trucks, the installation of an exhaust retrofit device, or the scrappage of an older truck.

Clean Trucks & Technology Expo

On Wednesday, May 9, 2012, the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program hosted the Clean Trucks & Technology Expo at The BankNote. Over 80 members of the South Bronx community learned about the rebate incentives and financing opportunities available for the purchase of new trucks or installation of advanced transportation technologies. The Expo also featured Program-approved vendors including dealerships/OEMs, scrap yards, and retrofit providers. One of the highlights of the event included a vehicle display of diesel and alternative fuel trucks.

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program shares its "Cleaner Trucks for a Greener South Bronx" mission with other New York and South Bronx organizations and institutions looking to create a prosperous and healthier community. Casita Maria, one of the Program’s event partners, displayed ‘clean air’-themed artwork created by its students. Other community organizations and stakeholders such as Sustainable South Bronx, Hunts Point EDC, and the NYCLHVCC supported the event by exhibiting.

Compressed Natural Gas Workshop

On Tuesday, March 13, 2012, the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program participated in the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Workshop sponsored by the New York City & Lower Hudson Valley Clean Communities (NYCLHVCC).  Over 75 members of the community including local and state stakeholders, natural gas providers, and regional fleets attended the workshop held at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo. The workshop focused on the benefits of CNG as an alternative transportation fuel, current funding opportunities available for the purchase of CNG vehicles, and examples of success stories.

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program represented by Cliff Gladstein, President of Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), shared a presentation describing the program’s goals, eligibility criteria, rebate incentives offered to truck owners, and information on how to apply.

Vendor Network Meeting

On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program held a meeting to educate vendors on how to participate in the Program’s Vendor Network that will allow them to offer clean transportation technologies to eligible fleet/vehicle owners that operate in the Hunts Point and Port Morris communities. Over 40 attendees participated in the Vendor Network Meeting representing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), exhaust retrofit technology vendors, and vehicle scrap yards. During the meeting, participants learned about the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program goals, rebate incentives offered to truck owners, program eligibility guidelines, and the application and incentive repayment process. Each participant received a Vendor Agreement to review and complete in order to participate in the Vendor Network.

The Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program Team is in the process of developing the Vendor Network and will provide this resource as an online tool to potential Program applicants that are seeking funding for new and alternative fuel vehicles and technologies.

Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program Launch and Workshop

On January 18, 2012 the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program launched with a successful workshop at Baldor Specialty Foods in the Bronx, NY. Over 95 members of the South Bronx community including fleets, trucking companies, technology vendors, and community stakeholders participated in the workshop to learn about the exciting green initiative sponsored by the New York City Department of Transportation. Led by its motto, "Cleaner Trucks for a Greener South Bronx," the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program Team discussed the goals and objectives as well as the attractive incentives the Program offers.
